Bible Verse: Phil 4:6-7
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Learn to thank God in all situations. Live a life of thankfulness. There are few things that happen to a man when he lives a life of thankfulness. If you find it difficult to thank God in all situations, there are miracles you cannot experience. When you don’t thank God, He may provide the needs you need but certainly not your desires.
In every situation of your life, God requires thanksgiving. Don’t murmur nor ask God why me! A lot of people only remember God when they have problems. A true Christian is one who lives a life of thanksgiving to God no matter the situation.
Even our Lord Jesus understood the importance of thanksgiving when he prayed for Lazarus to get up from the dead in John 11:41.
John 11:41 (KJV). Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
Things Thanksgiving Will Do For You
#1. God will visit you.
When you thank God, God visits you. Paul and Silas prayed and sang and God visited them.
Acts 16:25-26 (KJV). And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
#2. He gives you victory in all battles.
You are empowered to receive victory over every battle of your life when you thank God. This is clearly seen in the life of the Israelites. The walls of Jericho came down as a result of thanksgiving.
Psalms 50:14-15 (KJV). Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: 15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
#3. It will help you enter the gates of God. Ps. 100:4
Psalms 100:4 (KJV). Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Be thankful always. God bless you.
