The Power Of Choice – Ps. 51:6

The power of choice

[1st Service 5/7/2020] Bible Verse – Psalms 51:6 (KJV)

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts:
and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

God desires truth from your hearts. From the drama the youths acted, you find out that people do things for God without their hearts. If you can’t seek God in truth and spirit, you may not have evidence to show for your years of service. If it doesn’t begin from the heart, you’re wasting your time.

God is after the heart! Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 (KJV).
One of the things that separated David from Saul was the heart of David towards God.

Four Quotes That Highlight The Power Of Choice

  1. It is not about changing the world: it is about changing your own world. You can change the way you think, act, and do things.
  2. It’s not about what happens to your life; but how you respond to it.
  3. We don’t have control over what happens around us. But you can have control and choose how to respond to it. For instance, you don’t have control over the rain, but you can choose how to respond to it. You can decide to go to church on a Sunday morning even though there is a heavy downpour.
  4. It is not about what you have in your life right now, it is about what you do with them. You have a voice to sing, what you use it for is up to you. People think there’s no time, but the truth is that you have enough time. When preparation meets opportunity, it becomes favor. When unpreparedness meets opportunity, it becomes a disappointment.
  5. It is not about getting other people to change: it is about you changing. A change in your attitude and approach to people can cause a change in the life of another.
  6. It is not about the relationship you’re in, it’s about you being in that relationship.
1 Kings 18:21 (KJV). And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
  7. It is not about your parents, your teachers, or your friends: though they may have influenced many things about you in the past, now, it’s about you. You can decide whether to continue or change direction based on what you’ve learned from these people.

Make up your mind to serve God. To live a life of dignity and holiness is a choice.

3 Important Things You Should Know About Choice

  1. Personal freedom comes from acknowledging the choices you make. It simply means deciding to do something and sticking to your decision. It makes you free from manipulations. James 1:6-7 sheds more light on this.
  2. We gain more control over our lives and destiny.
  3. By choice making, you take responsibility, thinking of the possible outcome of the choices you make.
