[1st Service 21/6/2020] [Bible Verse – Job 26:7 (KJV)]

He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

The coming of the Corona Virus brought with it a new phrase; stay safe. You’ll need to stay safe because the world is being troubled as never before. This is to say that the world as a globe has a problem and will always have a problem.

Proverbs 21:31 (KJV). The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

Job 26:7 (KJV). He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

The earth hangs on nothing. Global warming, ozone depletion, radiation even from our phones, chemicals added to our crops, diseases like Ebola, Zika virus, etc. are making the world unsafe.

A pregnant woman can lose her life and child because of the mistake of a doctor or nurse.

A man who hitherto loved his wife suddenly hates her because of a plate of food laced with love portion that he ate outside. An unsafe world.

Economically, a rich man can go bankrupt because of an economic policy from the government. A fire disaster in the market can cause a shop owner to lose all he has. This is an indication of how unsafe the world is. Safety is of the Lord.

How can you be safe in this world?

  1. Observe the laws of life.
Proverbs 3:1-2 (KJV). My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Proverbs 21:31 (KJV). The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.
Whatever a man does, that’s what he reaps! Life is governed by laws and principles.observe them and you’ll have peace.
  2. Know that whatever you do or say, counts.
Psalms 34:12-13 (KJV). What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
1 Peter 3:10-11 (KJV). For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Numbers 14:29 (KJV). Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,
  3. Get sacrificial not diabolical.
2 Chronicles 1:6 (KJV). And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
2 Kings 2:19-20 (KJV). And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren. 20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
Proverbs 19:17 (KJV). He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
  4. Serve the Lord.
Malachi 3:17-18 (KJV). And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Four things about service.

  1. Your master provides.
  2. He protects you.
  3. He monitors and control’s your activities.
  4. He settles you at the appointed time of you’ve served well.
1 Samuel 2:30 (KJV). Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

This world is an unsafe place but here’s what Jesus says.

John 16:33 (KJV). These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
