In simple terms, roadblocks are the obstacles on our way. They either impede your movement and progress on a journey and if you don’t take care of them, they can stop you totally from reaching your destination. As a Christian, a roadblock is that thing that blocks you from serving God. It is an instrument in the hands of the enemy to attack your relationship with God.
A roadblock can either be physical or spiritual. There are many roadblocks that can hinder your relationship with God and they include
1. The People.
For you to serve God well, you need to know how to handle the advice that people will give you as it may often contrast with what God tells you to do.
1 Sam 15:24 KJV. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
Prov. 28:17 KJV. A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
Exodus 32:1 KJV. And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
2. The environment.
To serve the Lord, the things of the world shouldn’t draw your attention. You must not look at them nor consider them.
1 John 2:15-16 KJV. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 Tim 6:7 KJV. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
Romans 12:2 KJV. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3. The Adversaries.
Adversaries are also roadblocks on our way and can hinder us from getting our blessings.
1 Cor 16:9 KJV. For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
