The Tree That Bears Fruits

The tree that bears fruits image

In the Bible, there are many references that show men are like trees. Before God, men are like trees and as such, we are expected to bear fruits.

Dan 4:20-22 KJV. The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth; 21 Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation: 22 It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

Mark 8:23-24 KJV. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

Psalm 74:5 KJV. A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

It’ll interest you to know that God is a farmer and He planted trees. Without being told, you’ll know that every farmer desires to reap the fruits of his labor.

Gen. 2:8-9 KJV. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Jn 15:1-2 KJV. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

When a tree doesn’t bear fruits, two things happen to it.

  1. The tree will be cut down.
Matt. 3:10 KJV. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matt. 21:19 KJV. And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
  2. God will take you away from his presence.
Rev. 3:16 KJV. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
