Why Did He Resurrect?

Why Did He Resurrect?

Why do we celebrate Easter? You won’t be able to celebrate Easter well until you ascertain or understand the reason he (JESUS) resurrected. Easter is about the resurrection of the lord and not about partying, galivanting, and cooking special delicacies like some people think. When purpose is not known, abuse is evitable!

1 Sam 2:6 KJV. The Lord killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
John 11:25 KJV. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Rom 8:11 KJV. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Matthew 5:41 KJV. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Why did Jesus resurrect?

  1. Because God want to show his supernatural power is above all power. Greek name for resurrection is anastasis. He did it that everybody will look up to him.
Eph 1:19 KJV. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
  2. Because he wants to give us hope. If Jesus had not resurrected, the preaching of the gospel are all vain and faith is vanity. If Jesus did not resurrected. All the preachers and prophets are liars and false witness. If Jesus did not rise, we will still be with our sins.
1 Cor 15:16 KJV For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
  3. To give us new life.
Rom 6:4 KJV Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
2 Cor 3:6 KJV Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
  4. Jesus resurrected to overcome the power of the enemy.
Eph 1:19-23 KJV And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all
Acts 2 :24 KJV Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it
