Bible Verse: Matt 6:12-13 (KJV)

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

There are many things that happen in the life of a man who is forgiven of his sins. They include the following…

1. He is not lead into temptation.

Matthew 6:12-13 (KJV). And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

When a man’s sins are forgiven, he’s not lead into temptation because he begins to have a leading from God that helps him to overcome the temptations. At this point, forgiving others is also important.

2. Himself, his family, and generation are not cut off.

Psalms 109:14-15 (KJV). Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. 15 Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

When a sin is not forgiven, the sinner is positioned or destruction. David prayed the prayer above and asked God not to forget the sins of his enemies so that destruction will come upon them. Sin exposes generations to total destruction and annihilation.

3. Sickness will be far.

Isaiah 33:24 (KJV). And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.

Forgiveness is the beginning of restoration. God does not restore a man’s happiness until he first of all forgives him.

4. God shows you mercy.

Hebrews 8:12 (KJV). For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

When God shows you mercy, satan has no platform to attack you since God has forgiven you. Satan uses sin as a platform to attack people. Sin is a destroyer and a cankerworm.
