The Center of My Heart

The Center of My Heart

The battles of life are fought and won in the heart. This simply implies that your personal decisions can affect the battles you face in life. There are a few things you should know about the heart and they’re listed below.

  1. The Word of God will always call our attention to God’s commandments.
Prov. 3:1 KJV. My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
    Romans 10:8 KJV. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
  2. One can be worshipping God but his heart is far from God. Make sure that in what you do, that your heart is attached to it and that you’re doing it wholeheartedly for God.
Isa 29:15 KJV. Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
Matt. 15:8 KJV. This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
  3. If you want to do something, do it with your whole heart. In anything you do, if you won’t do it with your whole heart, don’t bother doing it.
2 Chrn 25:1-2 KJV. Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. 2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.
Isa. 26:3 KJV. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
2 Chrn 25:27-28 KJV. Now after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the Lord they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there. 28 And they brought him upon horses, and buried him with his fathers in the city of Judah.

Here are four things you should do to keep your heart properly occupied.

  1. The word of God.
Jos 1:8 KJV. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Phil 4:8 KJV. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
  2. Love for God and humanity.
1 Jn 4:7 KJV. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
  3. What do you have to give to the kingdom of God and to your neighbor.
Ps. 41:1-2 KJV. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
  4. Keep your heart busy with those things that will not give room for the devil.
Ps. 66:18 KJV. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
James 1: 26-27 KJV. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
