Strength In Battles – Luke 10:19

Strength In Battles

Bible Verse: Luke 10:19 KJV

Luke 10:19 (KJV)
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

God has given us power over all the powers of the enemy. There are powers everywhere in the world. These powers are classified and yet Jesus has given us power over all of those powers joined together. The success of a soldier is attached to the weapon he uses and the tactics he applies.

A soldier is one that goes to battle to defend something that belongs to him and to go into battle, he needs to be more equipped than his opponent. You don’t expect someone with a gun to fight someone with a dagger.

How to Have Strength In Time of Battles

As a Christian soldier, the Bible tells us to prepare for battles and listed the things we need. Hence, to have strength in times of battle, there are a handful of things you must do.

  1. Gird Your Loins With Truth. As a Christian, it is important, to tell the truth at all times. There is no reason to lie to anybody, instead, you keep silent.
  2. Breastplate of righteousness. This is the bulletproof vest that a soldier wears.
  3. Wear Your Boot. This is the gospel of peace that you move with.
  4. Shield of Faith. The shield of faith serves as a protector against the fiery darts of the enemy. You use it to block off the darts and stones and bullets that the enemy is throwing at you.
  5. Sword of the spirit. The sword of the Spirit is the word of God. If you’re a Christian and you don’t know the word of God, you may not be able to get the enemy down. And of course, the battles continue unending.

Battles can come in the following ways…

  1. Battles can come as an attack. These attacks may be physical or spiritual.
  2. Battles can come as seduction. Sometimes battles also come as seduction. This is often used when the person being attacked has escaped many of the attacks and traps set for him.
  3. Battles come as a compromise. Something that makes you compromise your faith.
  4. Battles come as an adventure. Sometimes, the desire to have adventures arise and make you want to do some of the things you hitherto didn’t do.
  5. Battles come as a betrayal. When trust is breached between people, betrayal sets in. Betrayals can lead one into doing things they couldn’t do before now.

Battles are real and how you handle them will determine how far you will go. God says something in Isa. 43:2-3… and in Isa

Isaiah 43:2-3 (ESV) 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you.

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV) 10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Things battle can do for you.

  1. Battles put a man together. It puts you together because you know you don’t have strength for battles.
  2. Battles will announce you. In Luke 8:43, you’ll find the testimony of the woman with the issue of blood.
  3. Battles will attract glory and a crown. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV). I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

In battles, you mobilize every resource at your disposal. God doesn’t bless a man in the midst of a battle. If he does, the person will use all his resources to fight their battle. He first, causes your battles to end before he blesses you.

You will not graduate a class until you pass the exam. In the same vein, you cannot go to another level in life unless you win the battle of the level.

Do This If You Want To Overcome Your Battles

  1. Watch And Pray. Matthew 26:41 (KJV). Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  2. Mind Who Leads You. Mind who you are following. If you’re not careful with the people you’re following, then you’ll end up in problems. Samson is a typical example. If your leader is a destroyer of destiny, then your destiny will be destroyed. A group of lions led by a sheep will be as foolish as the sheep. But the flock of sheep led by a lion will be as bold as their leader. Rev. (Dr) Isaiah Orjiakor.
  3. Check Your Enticement. What is it that entices you? Check your flair, your appetite, hunger, and desires. Matt. 18:8-9.

Matthew 18:8-9 (KJV). Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. 9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV). Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

04. How You Respond To Others Facing Their Own Battles. Galatians 6:1-2 (KJV). Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

May God help you to fight your battles in Jesus name. Brace up and fight your battles!
