²³ Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

The word of God encourages us to buy the truth and not sell it. This is because of the importance of telling the truth. The reason is simple. Psalm 101:7 makes it clear.

Psalms 101:7 (KJV). He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
