Divine Replacement – Heb. 10:9

Bible Verse: Hebrews 10:9

Hebrews 10:9 (KJV)
Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

God is in the business of replacement. For anyone that doesn’t do what God wants, there’s every tendency that God will replace the person.

1 Samuel 2:30 (KJV)
Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

1 Samuel 15:28 (KJV)
And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.

Isaiah 61:3 (KJV)
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion,
to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,

Things to know about Divine Replacement

  1. God does it with a better option. 1 Samuel 15:28 (KJV) And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
  2. Makes the former worse. 1 Samuel 16:14 -23 (KJV). But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.
  3. The former begins to think and act like an animal. Daniel 4:16 (KJV). Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him. Matt. 8: 28-34
  4. The unqualified becomes chosen and qualifies overnight. 1 Kings 19:15 (KJV). And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
