For every time you chose to do something, people or forces will arise and try to stop you. These forces become an obstacle, a stumbling block, or a strong man preventing you from achieving your goals. The forces in question include the following.
1. Ignorance
You must do away with ignorance if you want to go far in life. Ignorance is the lack of knowledge or wisdom. Hosea 4:6 makes this very clear.
Hosea 4:6 KJV. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Prov. 10:13 KJV. In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
Eccl. 10:15 KJV. The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.
2. The People
When you abide by the rules of the people instead of the word of God, you are bound to crash. The people will get you into trouble as they got King Saul.
Prov. 13:24 KJV. He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
1 Sam 15:20-21 KJV. And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.
James 1:6 KJV. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
3. Insensitivity to Spiritual Matters.
If you can take care of the desires of your flesh, then you will go far in life. The flesh is the problem of the mortal man. Let’s take a look at Rom. 8:6.
Rom. 8:6 KJV. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Matt. 6:33 KJV. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
There are certain issues that can cause one to be spiritually insensitive.
1. Because you think you have time.
2. You think you are very busy.
3. Because you think you have the Holy Spirit.
4. Not being a giver. Giving is a spiritual operation and life is about to give and take. Whatever you give will one day return to you. And it can clear the way for your destiny.
Luke 8:38 KJV. Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
Matt. 18:18 KJV. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Eccl. 11:1 KJV. Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
Prov. 11:24 KJV. There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
