A lot of Christians are far from God because of many things including sin and selfishness. As a Christian, if you don’t learn to put yourself under control, you will always expose yourself to failures in life. Don’t be selfish. There are many dangers associated with being selfish.
Dangers Of Being Selfish
- You will miss opportunities.
- There’ll be no room for God in your life.
Ps 10:4 KJV. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
Isa 66:2 KJV. For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
How do I overcome selfishness?
- Consider your neighbor better than you.
Phil. 2:3 KJV. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Rom. 3:23 KJV. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; - Understand that everybody has sinned.
- Know that life isn’t complete with you alone.
- Be patient with people.
- Crucify the flesh.
Gal. 5:24 KJV. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
