Commitment To The Kingdom

Here are a few things you should know about the kingdom.

1. There are things that militate against your service to the kingdom of God. These include what to eat, what to drink, and what to wear.
   Matt 6:31-32 KJV.
2. Not in words but actions. The kingdom of God isn’t in words but in actions.
   1 Cor 4:20 KJV.
3. There are many people that aren’t prepared for it. The parable of the ten virgins illustrates this.
   • Ten virgins – Matt. 25:1-4 KJV. The wise work for reward while the foolish wait for blessings.
   • They want quick settlement so that they can go, but with time, they’ll still come back.
     Luke 15:11-13, 17 -18 KJV (The prodigal son).
   • They build on emotions and they said not the word of God. Matt. 7:26-27 KJV.
4. The kingdom of God is not in eating and drinking.
   Rom. 4:17 KJV

Note the following.

1. When you serve the kingdom to get paid or to pay yourself, you may not stop lacking.
2. Even leadership in the kingdom is for work. Eph. 4:11-12 KJV. He gave he apostles different gifts for perfecting the work of the saints i.e. for work in ministry.
3. Anyone that is in the kingdom only to receive and not work will certainly come back to the kingdom because the blessings can be exhausted.
4. When you work in the kingdom, there are other blessings you didn’t remember to ask for which you will enjoy in due season. Matt. 6:33 KJV.
5. When you work in the kingdom, you will know God better and be closer to Him for a servant accesses his master’s inner chamber.
