Attributes of God

Attributes of God

2nd Service 25.10.2020
Bible Verse – Heb. 4:15 (KJV)

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

You cannot know God completely. Take, for instance, a few blind men who went to see an elephant. One touched the elephant’s tail and said the elephant is like a rope. The other touched the body of the elephant and said it’s like a wall. And then another touched the eye and said the elephant is like a ball. They described the elephant based on their perceptions about it. We describe God based on our perception of him and who we think he is.

What are the attributes of God?

1. He cares

God is known as a caring God. When you take a step of faith towards God in his word, his caring begins. God urges us to cast our cares on him for he cares for us.
Heb. 4:15 (KJV). For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
John 15:16 (KJV). Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Psalm 55:22 (KJV). Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

2. He delivers

God is ever ready to deliver you whenever you call upon him. God didn’t tell us there won’t be problems, but he tells us that when we walk through the problems, He’ll make a way for us. The problem won’t swallow you.
Prov. 24:16 (KJV). For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Isaiah 43:2 (KJV). When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Isaiah 49:24 (KJV). Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

3. He hears

We have a God in heaven who hears our calls. In Numbers 14:28, he makes it very clear. Our God isn’t a deaf God; anytime you call him, he’ll hear and answer you. Whenever you want to pray to God, be direct and specific about what you want.
Numbers 14:28 (KJV). Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
