Applying Moderation

Bible Verse: Ecclesiastes 7:16

Ecclesiastes 7:16 (KJV)
Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?


In all that you do, learn to apply moderation.

Philippians 4:4-5 (KJV)
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Proverbs 25:28 (KJV) He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.


Why is Applying Moderation Important?

1. The Human Soul is Wicked.

Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV). The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

2. Humans Are Unpredictable.

Jeremiah 17:9b (KJV). who can know it?

3. Bribe Diverts Them.

Exodus 23:8 (KJV). 8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

Proverbs 17:8 (KJV). A bribe is like a bright, precious stone in the eyes of its owner; Wherever he turns, he prospers.

4. Humans Are Selfish.

2 Timothy 3:1-2 (KJV). This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
