The Unshining Star

the unshining star sermon

The original design of every star is that it must shine. Therefore, if the star is not shining, it cannot be seen. So, when a star is not shining, you should know that there is a problem. Stars attract involuntary worship when it shines like it should, and when it’s shining, it can be seen from afar.

Matt. 2:1-2, Jn 4:19, Jn 1:47

When a star isn’t shining, the following reasons may be responsible.

  1. There is a covering. When a star is covered, it won’t shine. Prov. 28:13, 1 Jn 1:9
  2. When there is a foundational problem. Foundational issues can cause your star not to shine. In the shining of your star is the shining of other people’s star. Psalm 11:3, Judges 6:15, 1 Sam 9:21
  3. When there is a yoke/hold/curse/decree. Decrees, yokes, holds, and curses can affect one’s star and stop it from shining like it should. Gen. 27:26, Obad. 1:18
