As a Christian, it’s very important that you serve God. Your Christianity is incomplete if there’s no service attached. And if you must serve God, you must serve him with all your heart because if you don’t, then all the service you’ve rendered to him will be in vain. It’s quite unfortunate that many Christians are not interested in the service of God. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of service to God.
Benefits/Advantages of Serving God
- Honor. One of the benefits you’ll get from serving God is that he’ll honor you. There are three ways you can serve God and they include through your faith, serving the people in your community, and living by example.
Prov. 27:18 KJV. Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
1 Sam 2:30 KJV. Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. - Protection. Protection is yet another wonderful benefit of serving God. Take, for instance, your car. It doesn’t fight a person throwing stones at it, instead, you the owner take up the fight against the attacker because the car serves you.
Mal. 3:17-18 KJV. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
Ecc 3. 17-18 KJV. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. 18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. - Prosperity. The bible clearly points out that prosperity comes with service to God.
Job 36:11 KJV. If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Phil. 2:9 KJV. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
