Dealing With Double-Mindedness

Having a double mind simply refers to someone having a divided interest in two things and wanting those two things at the same time. A double-minded person is unstable in all his ways. If you’re a double-minded person, you’ll not be able to receive things from God.

James 1:6 KJV. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Areas Where People Have Double Minds

  1. In the area of praying.
    James 1:5,8 KJV. (5)If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (8)A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
    1 Jn 5:14 KJV. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
    James 4:3 KJV. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
  2. In hearing without doing. As a christian, when you hear the word of God and when you read the bible, put what you’ve heard and read into practice. Do the word.
    James 1:22 KJV. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
    Lk 11:27-28 KJV. 27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
    Matt. 7:26 KJV. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
    Heb. 2:1 KJV. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
  3. On partial treatment (partiality).
    Acts 10:34 KJV. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
