Bible Verse: Colossians 1:18 (KJV)
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
A lot of people think going to church is not important. Some others believe that the church defrauds church members. The Bible makes it clear that Jesus is the head of the church which is the body of Christ. Identifying with a church is the same as joining yourself to the body part of Jesus Christ.
Benefits Of Belonging To The Church
1. God Will Be In Control.
Jesus cannot be in control of your life unless you are counted as one of his – as a part of his body. Don’t forget that the church is also called a house of prayer. In Isa. 56:7 and in Isa 2:2, you’ll find this clearly written in the bible.
Isaiah 2:2 (KJV). And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
Isaiah 56:7 (KJV). Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV). 15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
2. God Provides What You Need In The Church
Isaiah 25:6 (KJV). And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
3. God releases supernatural forces.
Hebrews 12:22-23 (KJV). But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
